Exhibitions
2025
In 2025 Hsu Poyih held a solo exhibition at Peking University. The same year, his oil painting One Hundred Sons and a Thousand Grandsons was collected by the National Art Museum of China.
October 2017
At the 10th Florence International Biennale of Contemporary Art, Hsu Poyih presented six works from his “Great Love Without Borders” series — Cherish the Earth, Cherish Humanity, Tree of Life, Great Love Without Borders, Peace and Perfection. Each work is linked to the next, carrying the idea of world peace through the coexistence of humanity and the Earth.
In The Love God, natural gemstones and skeletal bones were set on a single platform, calling on the world to cherish the Earth and to cherish life. The organisers of the Biennale praised the strength of his personal style and the boundless tension of his art. To close, using his English name Hsu Po-Yih, he created the form “168” (一路發), wishing everyone fulfilment.
Touring exhibition
Supervised by Professor Ling-Gun Liu, researcher at the Institute of Earth Sciences, Academia Sinica, the exhibition displayed over sixty pieces of jewelry designed and created by Master Po-Yih Hsu. The works symbolise the shaping of Chaos, the beginning of the world and perfection, and reveal his transformation of rare treasures into works of art — conveying the inseparable connection between the universe and human society.
The exhibition opened at the Kaohsiung City Museum of History before touring to Singapore, the United States, Australia and China. At its centre was The Great Perfection, set with the large sapphire given to him in Sri Lanka in gratitude for saving a life.
Since the 1980s
Since the 1980s, Mr. Hsu’s art and jewelry exhibitions have been presented in Taiwan, mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Europe, and have been featured multiple times in UNESCO-related Intangible Cultural Heritage events. He remains actively engaged in international jewelry art exhibitions and high-level academic and cultural forums.
